1. What is behavioral health therapy? Behavioral health therapy is a type of counseling that focuses on the behavior and actions of an individual, as well as their thoughts and emotions. It is designed to help individuals understand and manage their thoughts and behaviors in order to improve their overall mental and emotional health.
2. What types of issues do you specialize in treating? As a behavioral health therapist, I specialize in treating a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and more. I also work with individuals who are struggling with life transitions, such as divorce, career changes, and retirement.
3. What can I expect during a therapy session? The initial intake appointment will involve reviewing consent documentation and an intake interview where information is collected to understand your presentation and the current challenges you are facing. Following the intake appointment, in a typical therapy session, we will work together to identify your goals and develop a treatment plan that is tailored to your specific needs. We will talk about your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and work to develop coping strategies that can help you manage your symptoms and improve your overall mental health.
4. How long does therapy last? The length of therapy varies depending on the individual and their specific needs. Some individuals may benefit from short-term therapy, which may lasts 12 sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy that can last several months or years.
5. How do I know if therapy is right for me? Therapy can be beneficial for anyone who is struggling with mental health issues or life stressors. If you are experiencing symptoms such as anxiety, depression, or difficulty managing your emotions, therapy may be a helpful tool for you. It is always best to speak with a mental health professional to determine if therapy is the right choice for you. If you have a previous negative experience with a mental health provider I encourage you to consider that perhaps the fault was not in the therapeutic process but rather a poor client/therapist fit. Give it another chance with a different provider, you may see a world of difference.
6. Do you offer virtual therapy sessions? Yes, I offer virtual therapy sessions for individuals who prefer to meet online or are unable to attend in-person sessions. Virtual therapy is conducted through a secure and confidential video conferencing platform. I do not offer in person therapy at this time.
7. How do I schedule an appointment? If you are interested in scheduling an appointment by messaging through my WEBSITE or email. I will be happy to schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation to discuss your specific therapeutic needs.
8. What are your fees for therapy services? An explanation of fees can be found HERE.
9.
Is therapy confidential?
